Code of Ethics

1. INTRODUCTION

At Casa de Vida Nueva, we are committed to creating a safe, respectful, Spirit-led environment for all participants.

This Code of Ethics outlines the behaviors, values, and standards expected from all servers, volunteers, and staff representing our ministry.

 

We serve from a foundation of Christian truth expressed with humility, gentleness, and integrity — while honoring the autonomy and diverse backgrounds of every guest.

2. CORE VALUES

We commit to walking in:

• Love

Serving others with compassion, patience, and grace.

• Integrity

Acting honestly, responsibly, and without hidden agendas.

• Humility

Understanding that we are stewards, not the source of transformation.

• Safety

Prioritizing the physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of every participant.

• Respect

Honoring each guest’s boundaries, beliefs, pace, and personal journey.

3. CONDUCT & EXPECTATIONS

All Casa de Vida Nueva facilitators and volunteers agree to:

1. Maintain a Safe Environment

  • Follow all safety protocols

  • Monitor guests appropriately

  • Never leave someone in a vulnerable state unattended

  • Create an atmosphere of calm and support

2. Honor Personal Boundaries

  • No inappropriate touch

  • No invasive questions

  • No romantic or sexual interactions with participants

  • Respect gender, cultural, and emotional boundaries

3. Maintain Confidentiality

  • All participant information, stories, and experiences remain private

  • No sharing of photos, videos, or conversations without explicit consent

4. Serve Without Pressure

  • No forcing beliefs, breakthroughs, or emotional expressions

  • No pushing guests into ceremonies or activities

  • No correcting or challenging a guest’s belief system unless invited

5. Walk in Professionalism

  • Arrive grounded, sober, and prepared

  • Avoid gossip, divisive talk, or unprofessional behavior

  • Maintain clear communication with fellow staff

  • Keep personal emotions managed and separate from guest care

4. MEDICINE FACILITATION ETHICS

For those handling or assisting with sacred medicines:

1. Responsible Use

  • We serve only in locations where they are permitted

  • All follows safety protocols

  • Tools are kept clean, organized, and respectfully handled

2. Informed Consent

  • Participants are briefed clearly and gently

  • Questions are answered honestly

  • Participation must always be voluntary

3. Emotional & Physical Presence

  • Stay attentive during ceremonies

  • Respond calmly and quickly to any guest in need

  • Maintain a peaceful, grounded presence

4. No Spiritual Authority Claims

  • Avoid presenting oneself as a shaman, guru, or spiritual figure

  • Do not attribute power or identity to the tools

5. COMMUNICATION GUIDELINES

Servers agree to:

  • Speak with kindness and clarity

  • Avoid fear-based or manipulative language

  • Offer spiritual insight only when invited

  • Encourage questions and honor each person’s process

  • Avoid making promises of healing or outcomes

6. PERSONAL RESPONSIBILITY & CONDUCT

Servers must:

  • Remain sober and substance-free except during authorized events

  • Maintain good emotional hygiene and self-awareness

  • Step aside if feeling ungrounded, overwhelmed, or unfit to serve

  • Seek support when needed from leadership

7. CONFLICT OF INTEREST

Servers agree to avoid:

  • Mixing retreat responsibilities with personal business solicitation

  • Promoting external spiritual programs unless approved

  • Forming dependent or unhealthy relational dynamics with guests

8. RESPECT FOR CREATION & ENVIRONMENT

We commit to:

  • Keeping retreat spaces clean and orderly

  • Protecting natural surroundings

  • Treating all sacred tools with reverence

  • Maintaining a peaceful environment free from chaos or disorder

9. EMERGENCY & CRISIS CONDUCT

In any emergency:

  • Remain calm

  • Follow the established safety protocol

  • Notify primary facilitators immediately

  • Ensure guests’ safety before anything else

10. SPIRITUAL POSTURE

While our foundation is Christian, we commit to:

  • Serving without pressure

  • Offering prayer or spiritual guidance only when requested

  • Walking in humility and gentleness

  • Honoring each guest’s pace, belief, and personal process

  • Trusting the Holy Spirit to guide without force or compulsion
