Bufo Alvarius

Bufo Alvarius refers to a powerful natural secretion associated with the Sonoran Desert toad, containing 5-MeO-DMT.

In retreat settings, Bufo may produce a brief but profound experience that some guests describe as deeply emotional, humbling, expansive, or spiritually significant.

At Casa de Vida Nueva, Bufo is approached with sobriety, caution, reverence, and clear boundaries.

Our Christ-Centered View

We do not believe Bufo saves.

We do not believe Bufo is divine.

We do not believe Bufo grants salvation, cleanses sin, or replaces the Holy Spirit.

At most, Bufo may become a tool that helps quiet the noise, soften the heart, reveal hidden pain, or create space for surrender.

But Christ alone is Savior.

Any true healing, freedom, reconciliation, or new life belongs to Him.

What Someone May Experience

Experiences vary widely. Some guests may experience:

  • Emotional release

  • A sense of surrender

  • Deep stillness

  • Memories or inner material surfacing

  • A widened perspective

  • Physical intensity

  • Fear, grief, awe, or peace

  • Difficulty describing the experience afterward

Because the experience can be intense, it must be held with careful preparation, grounded facilitation, and integration afterward.

What Bufo Is Not

Bufo is not entertainment.

It is not a guaranteed breakthrough.

It is not a replacement for therapy, medical care, wise counsel, or spiritual formation.

It is not something we treat casually.

No one should participate because they feel pressured, curious in a reckless way, or desperate for an instant fix.

Safety & Screening

Bufo may not be appropriate for individuals with certain medical conditions, psychiatric histories, medications, heart concerns, pregnancy, or current emotional instability.

Each guest must complete screening before participation.

We reserve the right to decline participation if we believe it would be unsafe or unwise.
