Psilocybin
Psilocybin is a naturally occurring psychedelic compound found in certain mushrooms.
In retreat settings, psilocybin may support emotional openness, reflection, memory processing, spiritual questioning, or a shift in perspective.
At Casa de Vida Nueva, psilocybin is approached carefully, legally, ethically, and with serious attention to screening, preparation, and integration.
Our Christ-Centered View
We do not treat psilocybin as a sacrament, savior, or source of spiritual authority.
We do not believe it grants salvation, removes sin, or replaces Christ.
For some guests, psilocybin may create space to reflect honestly, soften defenses, or encounter buried emotions. But any lasting healing, redemption, or transformation belongs to God alone.
What Someone May Experience
Experiences vary. A guest may encounter:
-
Emotional insight
-
Grief or release
-
A sense of beauty or connectedness
-
Memories or unresolved pain
-
Spiritual questions
-
Fear or discomfort
-
Peace, gratitude, or humility
-
A desire to make life changes
Because psilocybin can bring up deep material, preparation and integration are essential.
What Psilocybin Is Not
Psilocybin is not a cure-all.
It is not a shortcut to maturity.
It is not a substitute for medical care, therapy, repentance, discipleship, or wise counsel.
It is not appropriate for everyone.
Safety & Screening
Psilocybin may not be appropriate for individuals with certain psychiatric histories, personal or family history of psychosis, bipolar disorder, unstable mental health, certain medications, pregnancy, or other risk factors.
Every guest must complete screening before participation.
Honesty during the application process is essential.
